We stayed here at the start of our trip in December. The rooms are nice but small, as expected in a city. The location is close to the sky tower but the area in general is quite run down, with some antisocial behaviour close by. The breakfast in the morning was excellent and the staff were very helpful and friendly. They even gifted us a bottle of wine as we were getting married in NZ. There is a nice coffee area and restaurant attached to the hotel. Overall a good stay in a nice city! Thank you!
My stay at Mercure Auckland was fantastic! The hotel offers a stunning city view that truly took my breath away. The rooms are comfortable, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The central location made it easy to explore the city. I especially enjoyed the rooftop view, providing a magnificent panorama of Auckland. A solid 5/5 for a wonderful experience with unparalleled cityscape views. Highly recommend!
A decent accommodation, within walking distance of the center and the harbor, at a reasonable price. What you would expect from a hotel in this chain is offered. Although we have had better experiences elsewhere. We cannot recommend the …
All in all a disappointing stay. I was in room 501 (a room design for someone with mobility issues) which was the root-cause of both issues I experienced. There was a connecting door that had so little sound proofing the family on the other side on each night may as well have been in the room with me! There has to be a better solution than that. I heard every wail and every scream.
The other main challenge was the absence of any shampoo or shower gel until I asked for it. Even then it was just sachets because the hotel hadn't got around to fitting the dispensers in every room yet (according to reception).
On the plus side the bed was very comfortable, the shower warm and I liked the decor which was fresh and modern. However the room was an awkward shape and smaller than I'd expect - I guess that's due to it being an office conversion. Reception is also tiny which I imagine is for the same reason.
I had one other frustration - reception was left unmanned several times during my stay. I had to ask to check out by peering round the door into the office behind reception.
So in summary it felt like a very compromised experience. I wouldn't go back.
I appreciate the staff's effort, but during my three-night stay, I noticed breakfast items running out frequently and coffee machine broken twice.
In addition to the breakfast concerns, it would be beneficial to consider incorporating a more consistent room cleaning service to enhance the overall comfort and satisfaction of guests during their stay.
Location is very nice, staff is very friendly and breakfast was amazing.
However, the room was stuffy and very badly soundproofed, so you could hear your neighbours' (above and next to you) every move which makes it hard to sleep well. Beds comfy though.
Room keeping is a total disaster. Towels hang back from the floor instead of replacing them with new once. Although the hotel was refurbished recently it is getting a worn look as the maintenance is poor. Staid for 4 nights. As of day one had no shower gel. There was dust in the wardrobe, the cabinet and in the corners of the floor. The sink in the bathroom was not cleaned.
Breakfast was one and the same all the time with not much choice. Some of the staff were trying to avoid guests. Very slow service. Overall bad service. Price of 29$ for breakfast was a joke!
Our room had a door to the next so we could hear everything from the other side. No privacy really…
We stayed here for two nights after we arrived in New Zealand. The room was clean and with a comfortable bed and was quiet. The first night we walked round to Karangahape Road which had a wide range of bars and restaurants and had a very …
Very good place. On a slight hill quite a walk to get it to from Britomart. Not a lot of tourist centered things around it so no beggars hanging around. Ask for rooms in the 009 range away from Meyers Pk and it will be a bit quieter. Glass shower might not please everyone. Will choose to stay again. Easy to find the hotel at 500 Queen St.
We are regulars at sky city grand hotel and wanted to give another hotel a try. Mercure Auckland CBD is underated. This place is definitely a hidden gem, from arrival to checkout I cannot fault the service provided to us. Awesome to find a …
